In recent year, AFC Knowsley, which once started off as a small paddock on Lord Derby’s estate, has been rebuilt with the help of its sponsors and volunteers. As a not for profit company, they relied solely on the this support to fund the new building and relaying the grounds for the pitches. Ley Rubber has been a sponsor of the team for around 15 years and in recent years our sister company COH Baines have also become sponsors.

They hold a special place in the heart of Ley Holdings group as our former MD Mark Wealleans who sadly passed away in 2017, was a coach for the U7’s team (previously known as Knowsley South Celtics) along with a long standing employee Wayne Stevens. Wayne is now a coach for the U10’s AFC Knowsley Palace Team alongside Marks son Dominic Wealleans.

The team have a strong ethos and we stand with them as they continue to grow organisation.

‘100% Volunteers + 100% Community = 100% Authenticity’

The Club was founded in 1987 and was awarded the FA Charter Standard Development Club by Liverpool County FA in 2002.

In 2021 the decision was made in line with the new facilities development to change the Clubs name to :
